Xiwei Pan (he/him) is an (incoming) Ph.D. student in the Li Research Group.

His research interests lie at the intersection of computational mechanics, applied mathematics, and machine learning, with a focus on developing efficient and accurate methods for problems involving (multi-body) contact and friction. He also explores how these methods can be used to facilitate the (inverse) design of (meta-) materials and structures towards the interaction between the built and natural environment.

Beyond research, he enjoys swimming, photography, blogging, playing badminton and table tennis.
