Mechanics and physics of complex material systems

John Cureton
John Cureton (class of 2026) is an undergraduate student in the Li Research Group.
His senior thesis topic explores the (nonlinear) mechanics and physics of (dynamic) fracture via high-fidelity and detailed numerical modeling, with a particular focus on understanding the interplay between dimensionality and material property on controlling crack front dynamics.

Outside of school, he enjoys visiting famous bridges, playing tennis, and playing piano.
