Liuchi Li
Liuchi Li (he/him) is an assistant professor of civil and environmental engineering at Princeton University (starting January 2025).
He is particularly interested in understanding how the mechanics of contact, friction, and fracture shape the behaviors of complex material systems (e.g., phase transition of granular media). He also constantly thinks about how such fundamental understandings can be harnessed for novel and useful engineering applications (see the Pasteur's quadrant).
Outside of research, he enjoys casual reading (this book currently), rock climbing, skiing (when the weather allows), playing badminton and pickleball.
